The incident took place in Wilton around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, on Patrick Lane.
According to Wilton Deputy Police Chief Robert Cipolla, officers responded to the home and found a man identified as Arinzechukwu Ukachukwu, age 39, in the detached garage on the property.
Ukachukwu appeared to have succumbed to multiple stab wounds, Cipolla said.
The 911 caller, a neighbor of the victim, indicated that while looking out of his window he witnessed the victim being assaulted in the driveway, the chief said.
The witness indicated that the offender appeared to resemble his son Sebastian Andrews, age 31, of Wilton, Cipolla added.
The witness proceeded to the victim’s residence, finding the victim deceased in the detached garage, and called 911, but the offender was no longer present, he said.
With information from the witness that he believed his son was the offender, officers established a perimeter around the suspect’s residence on Indian Hill Road.
Andrews would eventually emerge from the residence and be detained without incident.
He was charged with murder and is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
Andrews is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, March 22.
"Our deepest condolences are extended to the victim’s family and loved ones in wake of this tragic incident," Cipolla said. "Please respect their privacy as they deal with this unthinkable loss."
The department was assisted by neighboring agencies and the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad.
